Amana Academy’s Partners in Education is proud to provide a full line of high-quality uniforms supplied by the Williamson-Dickies company. Dickies, started in 1922, is a family owned corporation that is dedicated to providing the highest quality uniforms along with the best in customer service. Dickies, chosen following a rigorous selection process, offers a full range of uniform styles consistent with Amana’s existing uniform code with added options such as reinforced knees, reinforced stitching, adjustable wastes, stain release, wrinkle free, and micro sanded fabrics. Shopping Q & A

Where is the store located? The new Amana Uniform Store is located on campus, on the upper level of the K/1 building. For your convenience, an entire suite has been outfitted with a full array of try-on samples. Several private changing rooms are available for your comfort. With the exception of socks, tights, bike shorts, shoes and belts, the Amana Uniform Store will carry everything else you need! And when you visit the store, knowledgeable PIE volunteers will be there to assist you.

Do I have to bring my children with me? Yes! Your child must try on the garments in order to achieve proper sizing. Please bear in mind that shopping for uniforms takes time. Your PIE Uniform Store Crew will do everything possible to ensure you have a pleasant experience, however, we do recommend that you bring your children when they are fed and well rested and that you make arrangements for small children.

When can we shop? To help ensure a pleasant experience, a class-by-class schedule will be in place to minimize the volume of uniform shoppers at one time (families with siblings can pick either class). You will be notified in advance of the “uniform store days” via the Friday Notes and special announcement flyers. Every effort will be made to accommodate individual schedules by offering a variety of varied hours of operation during the peak ordering season; however, this enormous service to our school is being provided courtesy of volunteer parents, so your cooperation with the scheduling is greatly appreciated. During peak demand seasons (end of year, late summer, pre-Winter, Pre-Spring), the store will be open every day after school from 3:00-7:00 pm and on weekends. During other times of the year, the store will open on a biweekly basis and/or by appointment. We suggest you SHOP EARLY in June and July in order to take advantage of the relaxed shopping atmosphere. Please bear in mind that uniform pants require hemming which needs extra processing time.

Do I receive my merchandise the day I shop? Items purchased during the pre-order discount period will be available for pick-up in July. During the peak ordering season from July-early August and again in the Fall, orders will be turned around within 10 days. Heat pressed embroidered logos are applied during your visit. A two week turn around may be required for certain items depending on availability.

What are my shopping options? If you know the correct sizes, you may print off this order form and drop it off with your payment in the main office. Amana uniforms may also be purchased directly from the Dickies website (www.dickies.com), however, the pricing is higher than Amana Uniform Store pricing.

What forms of payment do you accept?:
The Amana Uniform Store accepts cash, check, and credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. A $25.00 fee will be assessed for all bounced checks. The Amana Uniform Store is not responsible for insufficient funds in your account at the time the card is charged. Additionally, all Credit card transactions will be assessed a 3% surcharge.

How many of each garment should I purchase? That answer is really up to you; however, we recommend you start off with 3 bottoms, at least 3 shirts, 2 sweaters, and other required items such as belts, shoes, socks, P.E. attire, etc. The younger students are harder on their clothing and garments may need washing after each wear. If you launder only on weekends, additional garments will be needed.

Amana Uniform Store Policies

Garment Care: All garments can be machine washed and machine dried. We recommend washing is a delicate permanent pres cycle. Do not over heat pressed logos. Logos damaged due to ironing will NOT be replaced free of charge.

Return Policy: Dickies offers a one year, 100% satisfaction guarantee on all merchandise. If you receive an item with a defect, please return it to us with your receipt within 14 days, and we will replace it at no charge to you. Otherwise, all sales are final, no returns, no refunds. Once garments leave the store they will not be accepted for return or exchange. Please be sure of your sizes and preferences before placing an order.

If you believe the Amana Uniform Store has made a mistake by giving you the wrong item or items, please call and discuss the matter with one of our staff, not the school administration/faculty. If the Amana Uniform Store does make a mistake in your order, we will immediately replace the item/s. Please remember that the Amana Uniform Store crew is here to assist you with your order. We try to be as helpful and informative regarding the sizing of your child and the requirements of the Amana dress code. However, the Amana Uniform Store will not be responsible for the return of items that are not sized correctly.
