Amana parents are required to undergo background checks if they plan on volunteering in the school building or going on field studies as chaperones. We have set up a new account with the Chamblee Police Department to do our volunteer background checks. This was done for the ease of their process. They will allow us to fax them the background forms and receive the background check paperwork back by fax in a 24 hour turn-around time. There is NO more need for a driver's license copy or notarization. We will just need the form that can be downloaded at this link.

Please complete the paper form and seal this in an envelope as before and place it in my mailbox at school behind the Receptionist desk. As soon as I receive it, I will send it in to the Chamblee police. The fee is paid by Amana. If you want to know the status of your return, please, contact me at volunteer@amanaacademy.org

I am sorry that we have to change the forms now mid-year but this is going to help everyone for the long term and help to get these forms done quickly. Thank you all for your patience in this transition to a new system. We remain committed to providing a safe environment for your children, and this new format will help us be more efficient in doing so.
