Enrolling your child at Amana - summer hours

If you've been giving a spot from the waiting list to enroll your child at Amana and need to come down to down to the school to turn in your enrollment documents, you may come to the school Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30am to 3:30pm, or Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education

Amana Academy was selected as one of a handful of schools across the state of Georgia to participate the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education Bus Tour. This focus of the annual bus tour is to exhibit schools in Georgia that exemplify best practices in public education. The tour consists of two charter buses full of dignitaries from not only Georgia, but around the country and will include governors, senators, legislators, state superintendents, and other educators and law makers. Only six public schools in the entire state are chosen every year and the events will be filmed and broadcast on PBS in the fall. Congratulations to Amana Academy's Governing Board, administration, staff, students, and parents for all your hard work in helping Amana Academy achieve recognition as one of the State's top public schools.

Governor Sonny Perdue Honors Amana Academy

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue issued a proclamation honoring Amana Academy and other charter schools as part of Charter Schools Week May 3-9. Click here for pictures of the ceremony during which State Associate Superintendent for Policy and Charter Schools Andrew Broy presented the proclamation to the Amana community.

Welcome to Amana Academy public charter school. Your children will have a unique and exciting learning experience ahead of them! Amana is a new choice for Fulton County students to pursue a hands-on educational experience that positions them well academically and competitively, encourages them to bridge cultural gaps, and allows them to affect positive change in society.

Amana Academy is a SACS-Accredited, fourth-year charter school that currently offers grades K-8. Charter schools operate under conditions of increased accountability and autonomy, and are by definition schools of choice. Charter schools cannot charge tuition or have selective admissions policies. Charter schools are independently-managed public schools that have the freedom to introduce unique educational programs to attain superior academic results.

At Amana, your child will achieve these results through an innovative collection of educational approaches that utilizes the Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound instructional model (www.elschools.org) for emphasizing high academic achievement, exceptional communication skills, ethical character, and civic & environmental responsibility. They will also learn the Arabic language, one of six official U.N. languages.
